About Heather As well as almost certainly being one of Britain's most experienced rug makers and teachers of rug-making, Heather has an unrivalled understanding of the technique in all its forms and applications, an infectious enthusiasm and limitless patience.

International renown
A former social worker and occupational therapist, Heather's experience of working with a very wide variety of 'clients' is particularly relevant. In the UK, she has run workshops for inmates at Durham Prison, teaches rug-making to children age 5 upwards and leads weekly sessions, including people with special needs and learning difficulties. She has won international renown, teaching rug-making in Africa, Australia, Canada and across the USA.
